Alongside The Greens in this years competition, which was well organised by Colin Bray, were holders Cromer, Gt Yarmouth, Waveney Athletic, Corton and Woodbridge Athletic.

All sides played each other in 25 minute matches with the top two playing in the final and it soon became a three-way battle for the top two places between Gorleston, Woodbridge and Cromer.

Gorleston faced Woodbridge with six games to go with the game ending 1-1. However, had Gorleston converted a penalty, they would surely have won the game and secured a place in the final.

This meant the Greens went into their last game needing to beat Cromer to progress to the final. Ally McKenna opened the scoring after 7 minutes only for Cromer to equalise. The Greens were then awarded another penalty but, once again, it was missed. The score draw was not enough and it was Cromer who reached the final against Woodbridge.

An early goal from Dale Wilton gave Cromer a head start and a second from the same player with three minutes remaining ensured his side became the first team to retain the Sailor Brown Trophy.

In the Youth Tournament, running parallel to the main competition, Waveney Tigers emerged victors, winning their final 2-1.

Thanks go to referee Neil Farrow, giving up his time for free, and the other three officials without whom there could be no tournament.
