Gosport and Fareham beat Alton in the Cup final
Emerging Players Festival
| Havant EPF | 1 | vs | 3 | Gosport & Fareham |
U10s win the Havant Emerging Players Festival
Two weeks, two trophies!
What can I say? What a fantastic tournament!
Gosport and Fareham had an excellent start – a 5-2 win over Portsmouth. After a couple of hard fought draws against Winchester (2-2) and New Milton (2-2) and a 1-0 win over Trojans, we were well placed in the group. But it all hinged on the final result.
We were guaranteed at least a place in the Plate final. If George had done his maths right, Winchester had to either win, or draw with Trojans and score 3 in order to finish top of the group, otherwise we were through to the Cup finals.
After an extremely tense match, Trojans beat Winchester 1-0 – we were in the Cup final against Alton.
Gosport and Fareham then produced some fantastic rugby, everyone was giving it their all. There were some excellent tackles, fantastic rucking and some simply beautiful passing and use of space. The final result was Gosport and Fareham 3 Alton 1.
Congratulations! You all played so well today and made everyone extremely proud.
And a big thank you to the coaches, parents for making it an extremely enjoyable day and a special mention to George – who does a great job keeping track of the scores.
