EMCL Saturday 28th April 2012
Graham St. Prims v Radford.
Prims welcomed Radford for their last game of the season with the weather easing allowing the game to go ahead. Following a week of torrential rain Secretary Pete Davies and several helpers were at Prims Asterdale ground before eight o'clock in order to fork away any areas of standing water in order that the game could go ahead. The pitch responded well to the break in the wet conditions and the game went ahead.
Radford took the lead as early as the ninth minute Radford's 6'6” centre forward Harry Allen heading home from a Michael Allen cross. Danny Powell scored a second for Radford firing in a shot from the right flank. Prims responded with a goal in the twentieth minute Chris Briggs scoring from a Louis Mundin cross. The stage was set for a cracking end of season finale with both teams coping well with the heavy conditions.
HT Prims 1-2 Radford.
Prims pressed hard for an equaliser right from the start of the second half. Tom Cooper Richards came the closest, beating the Radford defence he fired in a powerful shot which hit the upright and rebounded stright into the arms of Jake Want in the Radford goal. Despite several other chances including a couple from Loui Mundin direct from a corner and one from a free kick the score line remained the same and Radford celebrated as they escaped relegation by securing all three points.
FT Prims 1-2 Radford.
