Grange Weekly Mailings – week commencing 15th September

IMPORTANT NOTICE – FETTES ACCESS
There are some simple arrangements which we must adhere to when utilising the Fettes pitch. If we fail to meet these basic and minimum expectations, Fettes have stated that they will review our utilisation of the pitch. These arrangements extend to our opposition to; captains it is your responsibility to ensure that the visiting team comply.
1) Access to the pitch is from Crewe Road South only. No other entry points are to be used.
2) No parking anywhere in the Fettes grounds or in the Westwood’s Gym car park.
3) Warming-up outside of the pitch is to be done only in the area of grass behind the southern goal (nearest to the entrance) and nowhere else.
4) Access to toilets is via the front door of Westwood’s Gym only. No player should be utilising the surrounding area.
5) Please change shoes prior to playing on the new surface, particularly if you have just warmed-up on the grass.

Hockey Club Website http://www.grangehockey.org

Section & Club Social events
Please put these dates in your calendar
Grange Quiz Night – Friday 3rd October, 2000 start.
Grange Ball – Saturday 25th October – ask behind the bar about tickets
Fireworks Night – Saturday 8th November

The Club Fireworks Night is an important night for the section, as is it ourselves that organises the event and it raises a sizeable chunk of our annual funding. We are looking for somebody to help with the pre-organisation of the event – I hope that Frank Armstrong will continue to run the pyrotechnics on the evening.
Anyone who wishes to volunteer should e-mail Ross Parker.

Message from the Club Secretary
At last……..the 18th September is almost upon us! After two years of endless campaigning, we are about to find out the result of the only Opinion Poll which counts.
This Referendum is a truly historic moment in the history of both Scotland and the rest of the UK. To mark the event, the Club Bar will be open until 1am and, thereafter, members are welcome to stay on to watch the results come in on a BYOB basis – no corkage after 1am. Likewise, folk are welcome to use the kitchen (as long as it is left tidy!) or bring in food. Guests and Friends are particularly welcome.
There is no charge for this and I simply thought that it would be fun for interested members to watch the results as they are announced in an informal, relaxing environment. People are welcome to pop in and out as it suits. The building will be open all night and I may lay on some hotdogs………..although it may have to change to Haggis as the evening progresses!
It would appear that the outcome is now on a knife edge, so there may be quite a crowd of voters, of both persuasions, with whom to celebrate or commiserate.

If you no longer wish to receive these weekly mailings from the club, please reply to Ross Parker.
