A tricky start to the season with around 18 players unavailable from the top three squads, but both sides put in dogged displays to make sure that full points were taken in the club’s first league fixtures of year against strong opposition. Our thanks to Ed, Tim & David for umpiring.
Mentions in dispatches
Jamie Hogarth: Called up from the Dev XI at the last minute to provide cover for the 2s, played the full 70 minutes and had a cracking game to boot.
Tom Frenzel: First game in charge, 3 points in the bag and a hat-trick to cap it all off. Now he just needs to learn how to get his side organised on match day.
Sandy Drennan : Debut for the 3s and after a slow start played very well in the second period when the rest of our midfield was starting to flag.
Callum Miller: An excellent performance with a couple of great saves and a clean sheet.

The Club Fireworks Night is an important night for the section, as is it ourselves that organises the event and it raises a sizeable chunk of our annual funding. We are looking for somebody to help with the pre-organisation of the event – I hope that Frank Armstrong will continue to run the pyrotechnics on the evening.
