Goalkeeper Louis Jones (19) appeared as trialist 1 at Lincoln United last Saturday, making a couple of superb saves in the clubs 1-1 draw with our County neighbours. Louis is a second year pro with Doncaster Rovers and spent time with Gainsborough Trinity last season in the National League North and a further spell with Sheffield FC in the Evo Stik First Division south.
He is joined at the club by Rovers teammate Max Watters also (19) who again featured in last Saturday's draw with Lincoln United, scoring the Gingerbreads only goal with a well taken header. Watters only joined Doncaster in May from Ashford United where he had made just 25 appearances for the Nuts n Bolts, before coming to the attention of the League One side.
Watters has previously played for Thurrock and had a spell on-loan with Barking during the 2016/17 season. He can operate either as a midfielder or striker, having score 8 goals for Ashford last season including a hat-trick against Thamesmead Town in December and a brace against Herne Bay.
Both have agreed terms with the club until January, but Rovers do have a recall option and will be available for the Checkatrade Trophy games, should they not clash with Grantham fixtures.
They join fellow loanee Morgan Penfold from Peterborough United who joined the club two weeks ago, as manager Ian Culverhouse puts the finishing touches to his squad ahead of Saturday's final pre-season fixture, away at Spalding United.
