Attention turns to the second round of the Integro League Cup on Tuesday night when Grantham travel to Derbyshire to face Matlock Town.

It was heartbreak for Grantham in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy on Saturday as they let slip a 3-1 lead, eventually losing 4-3 to National League North side Chorley, who won the game with a late winner.

The game was the Gingerbread's first defeat in eight games, ending a run of seven consecutive wins. The Gingerbread's also remain 3rd in the league having not participated in league action this weekend.

Grantham managed to get to the second round of the cup by beating local rivals Lincoln United 3-2 at the Meres.

Matlock were in league action on Saturday, unlike Grantham, and ran out 2-0 winners at home to Halesowen Town, leaving the Gladiators in 14th place from 22 games played this season.

The home side were able to get their name in the hat by beating Carlton Town on penalties after drawing 1-1 with them in the first round of the cup.

Adam Stevens has said that it is important his side forget Saturday and they concentrate on the future: "Saturday has gone now and as a team, we need to move on from that. I know that if we play to the tempo that we did in the first half on Saturday, I am confident we can get a positive result."

Stevens also mentioned about the possibility of rotating the squad: "The season is long and rotation is key to keep everyone fit. These games give me a chance to assess the squad and maybe give some players who haven't had as much game time, an opportunity to impress me and force their way in to the first team."

As previously mentioned, Stevens has hinted at rotating the squad for Tuesday's fixture, with the likes of Tom Curtis and Kevin Da Silva Bastos being given an opportunity to impress. Winger Luke Shaw, who is currently nursing a long term injury, is the only absentee.
