Grantham will be in high spirits for the occasion having not lost in over a month and have won their last seven games on the bounce. The most recent victory came last Saturday where the Gingerbreads stormed to a 3-0 win away to Buxton where Lee Shaw managed to grab a magnificent hat-trick.
The result was enough to consolidate the Gingerbread's 3rd place spot with 38 points and just three points off table toppers Altrincham.
The Magpies have so far had an enjoyable season, especially in cup competitions where they managed to play in a lucrative FA Cup 1st round tie at home to Fleetwood in front of the BT Sport cameras. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't make it an even more memorable night with a victory as they were beaten 2-1 by the League One side.
In terms of their league form, Chorley currently sit 9th in the Vanarama National League North, two points off a play-off place. Their most recent result was a 1-1 draw away to Stockport County which left them unbeaten in their past four league games.
The main danger men for Chorley is former Accrington Stanley youngster Marcus Carver, who has netted five goals in all competitions so far, and Fleetwood Town loanee Nick Haughton, who has scored ten goals and is the side's top goal scorer.
Grantham have had to play two qualifying rounds before Saturday's game, beating Halesowen and Kidsgrove where as Chorley are playing their first game of the competition.
Grantham manager Adam Stevens explained how he hopes for it to be a great day for the fans and that his side must not let the occasion get the better of them: "The fans have deserved a tie like this for a long time and I hope that they can enjoy it and relish it. As for the players we know the pressure isn't on us but it is a great opportunity to show how far we have come and claim a scalp against a good side. Just because they have been on TV and have some ex football league players doesn't mean we should be in awe, we will make sure they are in a game."
Luke Shaw and Matt Baker will play no part in Saturday's game with Shaw recovering from a long term injury where as the latter has been loaned out to Sutton Coldfield. New signing Tom Batchelor could make his first appearance in a black and white shirt since re-signing from Boston United last week. Everybody else is available for selection.
The Gingerbread opens at Noon and will be showing the National League tie between Chester and Dagenham & Redbridge at 12:30pm, then after our match will be showing Liverpool v Chelsea.
As ever we'll have updates of the match across our social media accounts for those unable to get to the match.
