The best way to keep up to date with Grantham Town FC

Free-Scoring Gingerbreads Travel to Buxton

6 months ago By Callum Boyle

Its two away games in a row for Grantham on Saturday as they make the trip to Derbyshire to face Buxton FC.

Following on from a hard-fought 2-0 win away to Kidsgrove in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy, the Gingerbreads are in excellent form having won six games on the bounce and sit three points off the top of the table in 3rd place.

The Bucks meanwhile are winless in five having lost three of their last five games in all competitions including a 5-3 defeat at home to Coalville Town in the first round of the Integro League Cup. In terms of league positions, Buxton are in 10th position and are six points off Grantham.

Despite the home side's poor form, Gingerbreads boss Adam Stevens says his side need to be wary of the threat that Buxton pose: Buxton, just like every other game this season, is a difficult one. They make themselves very hard to break down and despite not being in the greatest form, they still pose a big threat. We will make sure that we are alert and ready to go to get the three points."

Luke Shaw is the only player definitely ruled out of Saturday after confirming he had picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the defeat to Stafford Rangers. The rest of the squad is available however.
