Gingerbreads Back At Home On Tuesday Night

3 months ago By Callum Boyle

After an almost never-ending run of fixtures being cancelled, Grantham return to action at the Meres on Tuesday night when they take on Nantwich Town.

Having been almost two and a half weeks since the Gingerbreads played a game, Tuesday provides them with an opportunity to get back to winning ways against the side they last played - Nantwich.

The meeting between the two sides ended up with Nantwich taking the points, winning 3-1 at home. That result was enough to end the Gingerbread's seven game unbeaten run and also for Grantham to fall out of the play-off places into 6th place.

Luckily for the Gingerbreads results went in their favour as teams around them either suffered defeat or had their games called off. As it currently stands, Town are three points off the play-off places.

The Dabbers travel to the Meres in mixed form having won only two of their last five games - the most recent result being a 2-0 home defeat to Matlock Town on Tuesday. Nantwich are currently located in 14th place in the league and will be looking to consolidate mid-table.

Grantham manager Adam Stevens is confident of picking up a result and says his side are raring to go ahead of Tuesday's game: "The lads have been working really hard and they can't wait to get going on Tuesday. I have confidence in them and a win on Tuesday will provide us a very big boost ahead of the end of season run in."

Tom Batchelor will finally be serving the last game of his suspension whilst Luke Shaw will have to wait a little longer to return to the side as he still recovers from his injury. The rest of the squad is available for selection.
