The best way to keep up to date with Grantham Town FC

Gingerbreads Dabbered

3 months ago By Simon Hayes

The Gingerbreads finally returned to match in Cheshire today, but came home empty handed.

A bright start from The Gingerbreads was extinguished on 15 minutes, when Nantwich worked a "training ground" corner routine and Sean Cooke fired beyond Kieran Preston.

The Gingerbreads had plenty of possession but can not make anything count in the final third.

On 36 minutes Nantwich doubled their lead. A free kick was headed home by Harry Clayton.

The second half saw The Gingerbreads push Nantwich back but again couldn't find the back of the net.

Adam Stevens made changes and pushed more men forward, but The Gingerbreads got caught on the break and Matthew Bell made it 3-0 to the home side.

On 89 minutes, Lee Shaw broke the line and scored for The Gingerbreads. With 5 minutes added time it was too late for a fight back.

Next up we host Warrington on Tuesday night.
