Gingerbreads Look To Carry On Form

5 months ago By Simon Hayes

On Saturday, The Gingerbreads head to Barwell looking for a first ever league victory at Kirkby Road.

Last week’s 3-2 win over Witton Albion was The Gingerbreads 5th straight away win in the Evo-Stik Premier Division. Speaking in the week, Adam Stevens was delighted with the win. “Witton is never an easy place to go to. I thought we weathered their early pressure. Got ourselves in front and then up until the 85th minute we looked like we’d be the only winner.”

Jordan Hempenstall’s two goals, took him into double figures in all competitions for The Gingerbreads.

Barwell haven’t won in 7 league matches. The last however was at home to Shaw Lane, who at the time topped the table. Adam Stevens isn’t expecting an easy afternoon “We know what Jimmy Ginnelly’s sides are all about. We’ll need to work probably harder than normal, and stick to our jobs”

Apart from Luke Shaw, there are no injury worries for The Gingerbreads. However, Jordan Hempenstall is un-available for selection due to personal commitments.

Stevens is hoping that there will be plenty making the trip into Leicestershire "I can't praise our supporters enough. Home or away they're their, backing us. It's fantastic. If you watch Saturday's highlights at Witton and then the highlights from the clubs last visit there you can see the same faces celebrating"

With the weather forecast showing below freezing for overnight, we will keep you updated on any pitch inspections etc.

For those who aren't able to make the match, there will will be updates across our social media accounts as normal.
