The best way to keep up to date with Grantham Town FC

Gingerbreads Look to Keep Play-Off Dream Alive

1 year ago By Callum Boyle

Grantham will be looking to keep up their impressive play-off hunt when they make the trip to face Corby Town on Easter Monday.

The Gingerbreads are in fine form after beating fellow play-off rivals Buxton, with Lee Shaw netting his twentieth league goal of the campaign to get the three points. The win made sure the Gingerbreads kept up their impressive winning run which has now stretched to seven games.

Opponents Corby meanwhile also secured a 1-0 win away from home against mid-table Stafford Rangers to leave them twentieth in the league, above the relegation zone on goal difference only.

Grantham know a win could send them up to fourth should Stourbridge lose and goal difference goes in their favour which could potentially leave them on 79 points with just one game to play.

Despite both sides playing on Saturday, Grantham boss Adam Stevens is not concerned by the quick turnaround in fixtures: "It's the exact same for them. Both sides have had a day to recover and I know we are ready to go". Stevens also highlighted the importance of the game for both sides: "Both sides are desperate for different things. We need the points to help us get into the play-offs and they need the points to survive. Whatever the result ends up being we know it will be a tough game but a great game as well".

The previous fixture between the sides saw the Gingerbreads romp their way to a 4-0 victory on Boxing Day, a result which they will be looking to match once more.

Grantham have no new injuries to report with everyone expected to be fit for the Bank Holiday game.
