Stevens Calls Upon Fans Support At Nantwich

3 months ago By Callum Boyle

Gingerbreads boss Adam Stevens is hoping that the fans can continue their excellent support when Grantham travel to Nantwich.

When asked about the weekend's game, Stevens was full of praise for the supporters: "It has been an extremely frustrating time for them with all the games being called off - especially for the ones that travelled all the way to Whitby on Tuesday. Me and the players can't thank you enough and we are looking forward to hearing you support us as well as you usually do on Saturday."

The Gingerbreads haven't played since February 3rd where they secured a 1-1 draw at home to Witton Albion to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games. As it stands, Grantham are currently 3rd in the league and 12 points behind league leaders Altrincham.

Cheshire-based Nantwich Town are looking to return to winning ways after losing 2-1 away to Whitby Town. Despite sitting in 14th place, Nantwich are 13 points off the play-off places and will be hoping that a late upturn in form could clinch them an unlikely play-off place.

Nantwich have won three of their last five games in all competitions.

Adam Stevens says that his side are fit and raring to go this weekend: "The players are in good condition and cannot wait for Saturday to come round. We've worked a lot on fitness as well as working on some tactical aspects in training which will help us in the promotion battle until the end of the season."

Defender Tom Batchelor still has two more games to serve in his suspension whilst midfielder Luke Shaw is still recovering from injury. The rest of the squad is available.
