Still only 26 years old, Josh can play in defence or midfield, and was at Buxton for three years after he impressed at Stocksbridge Park Steels. His other clubs include Matlock Town and Doncaster Rovers, where he made his professional debut in 2012, and was rewarded by Rovers with a professional contract in 2013.

On the arrival of Josh, Carlton say said "This lad will be a fans favourite. He’s got an infectious personality, as soon as I spoke to him I liked his mentality and willingness to win football matches. I’m looking forward to working more closely with him. Every dressing room needs a lad like him."
