A Strong 2nd Team

Match Report: Gravesend Ladies 2’s v Herne Bay Ladies 3rd XI

GLHC had a renewed vigour this weekend driven by Captain Sharon Tams. The team worked closely together, and Becky Pratt kept the defence strong to stop Herne Bay from getting close to the goal. A free hit from outside the D saw Gail Petherick taking the ball around the defence to pass to Deb Hamer who fired it into the goal.

In the second half, GLHC took great advantage of a free hit out taken by Tams who quickly passed it to Petherick to slip to Deb Rutherford to cross to a waiting Deb Hamer to convert. 2-0 up, GLHC remained strong with multiple attempts at goal. Herne Bay were awarded a short corner which they scored from. Despite play stopping, so GLHC could attend to a winded Madison Hutton, GLHC held tight to ensure that Herne Bay did not equalise.

Joint Player of the Match: Gail Petherick and Natalie Reading
