Walsham-le-Willows 5, Great Yarmouth Town 0
Great Yarmouth Town’s terrible season continued with another heavy Ridgeons Premier Division defeat
Kick off for the match was delayed due to problems with the team bus on the way to the match, disrupting pre-match preparations.
Barnden and Forbes were unavailable due to college commitments and so in came Jason Hall for his debut at the heart of defence alongside Liam Williams.
Danny Burkle and Neil Hurren returned to the side and also making their bows in the first team squad on the bench was Barney Lawrence and Alex Pantelli.
Goalkeeper Ben Cudden also returned to the side after recovering from illness.
Nathan Kemp gifted the home side a goal within the first fifteen minutes with a poor pass in defence which was latched onto by Brame.
It took the visitors until the 30th minute to offer an effort on goal but it came from a decent move. From a Walsham corner the team cleared the ball to Hurren on the halfway line, Hurren released Jobbagy, the young winger fed the ball to captain Callum Jones who acrobatically overhead kicked the ball over.
Walsham made the score more comfortable later in the half, Charlie McAra conceding a foul and from the resulting freekick Cusack was left completely unmarked for a free header, Cudden with no chance with the poor defending in front of him.
The side went in two goals down at the break, with Walsham creating the better chances but the ball mostly being evenly contested in the middle of the park. The creative players for Yarmouth needed to get more into the match for the Bloaters to get back into the match.
After the break the ineffectual right side partnership of Jobbagy and Kemp were replaced by full back Andre Costa and forward Pantelli. Despite an excellent early save from Cudden, the Norfolk side in yellow and black started the find some rhythm and a way back into the game, with a McAra cross grazing the crossbar.
But as Yarmouth started to dominate a penalty was conceded. Hall deemed to have fouled the Walsham striker in the box with some thinking the foul was the other way. Cudden guessed right but just failed to connect to the decent penalty.
Three minutes later it was game over, with some players still aggrieved about the penality the team switched off and allowed Walsham to score their fourth, ending the tie.
Walsham, with control of the match created a few other chances before the final whistle and Musgrove completed the scoring in injury time to inflict a 5-0 defeat onto Yarmouth.
