Greenfield 1 FC Nomads 4

Lack of discipline and poor defending proves costly for Greenfield as FC Nomads beat us 4-1 to end our FAW Trophy campaign.We could not have had a worse start when the visitors went ahead after just 6 minutes when Reece Norton was unmarked to head in a right wing free kick.Greenfield failed to learn that the main danger was set pieces with FC Nomads having no fewer than six players over 6 foot tall but we kept conceding pointless free kick and the visitors looked dangerous off every set piece.On 12 minutes we were 2 down when Matty Cross hit a 20 yard effort into the bottom corner giving Danny Stanton no chance.Greenfield had period of pressure but failed to create any chances of note.On 37 minutes Matty Cross got the visitors third goal with another well taken goal.Just two minutes later Greenfield had a glimmer of hope when Tom Carney drilled a right footed shot into the bottom corner.Although we went in at half time 3-1 down it was only the performance of Danny Stanton that kept the score down.Any hopes of getting back into the game were dashed on 65 minutes when Tom Carney picked up his second yellow card of the game.Despite being down to ten men Greenfield pressed and created chances with Sean Evans hitting the bar and Keith Ainsworth and Mark Johnson going close.As the game was drawing to a close Keith Ainsworth was sent off for an off the ball incident and with virtually the last kick of the game Ant Williams got FC Nomads fourth goal.
