Greenfield 2 Overton 1 Welsh Cup

For the third game running Greenfield again had to come from behind to beat Overton 2-1 and make it 3 wins from our first 3 games. With 5 players missing it was always going to be a big ask but to get another win shows the strength and depth we now have in the squad.The first half was scrappy but we did close on occasions when Shaun Pritchard was inches away from converting a Shaun Beck cross and Gareth Henley shot wide twice when well placed . Overton took the lead on 20 minutes when a scuffed shot fell kindly for their striker and he tapped in from 3 yards.We got back on level terms 5 minutes into the second when Shaun Beck`s 20 yard shot went under the keeper and into the bottom corner.Despite creating several more chances we couldn't get the killer second but as extra time loomed the ball fell nicely for Gareth Henley 6 yards out and he shot home to put us into the second qualifying round.We have another chance on Tuesday to keep the run going as we face Mochdre Sports at home 6.30 ko.
