Greenfield 6 Halkyn Utd 1

Greenfield comfortably beat neighbours Halkyn Utd 6-1 to progress in the league cup. Again we had to come from a goal behind after an Ian Jones penalty put the visitors ahead on 10 minutes. The lead only lasted 5 minutes when the impressive Sion McHugh played an excellent thorough ball and Shaun Beck wasted no time in slotting home from 12 yards. On 18 minutes we took the lead after a misplaced pass from Halkyns Keeper allowed Tom Carney to run in on goal and chip him, There were plenty of chances to increase the lead before half time but the visitors keeper more than made up for his error with a string of fine saves. The second half was totally dominated by Greenfield and the third goal on 58 minutes when a Shaun Beck thumping header found the top corner off a Mark Johnson corner. It was 4-1 on 60 minutes when another superb header from Liam Robinson went in from a Tom Carney corner. The fifth goal came on 75 minutes when Shaun Pritchard got a deserved goal when he slotted in after a through ball from Shaun Beck. The last and 6th goal came from Leon Hughes who scored on his debut with a deflected shot. Another win and solid performance and special mention to Sion McHugh who covered every blade of grass didn't lose a tackle all afternoon. We now look forward to next weeks game as we face a tough task against a strong Prestatyn Sports
