Greenfield 3 CPD Gronant 3

Greenfield progressed in the Welsh cup after a nervous penalty shootout win at Gronant. The first half was dominated by Greenfield and we took an early lead in the 15 minute. A pin point cross field ball from Nathan Williams found Connor Hughes and he curled an excellent 18 yard shot in to the top corner. Our second soon followed just 8 minutes later when Ethan Evans header fell to Connor Hughes and dispatched past the Gronant keeper for his second of the game. On 43 minutes it was 3 when Ethan Evans was upended in the box and Danny Calvert scored from the spot. Our 2nd half display was awful in contrast to the first half and lapses in concentration allowed the home back in to the game as they scored on 53,69 and 81 minutes to draw level and take the game to a penalty shootout. We prevailed 3-1 in the shootout. Danny Calvert, Dean Hyland and Dylan Roberts scoring for Greenfield with Keeper Andy Billington making two superb penalty saves.
