Greenfield put in a disappointing performance as we were held to a 1-1 draw by the leagues bottom side Gaerwen. Lon Groes has never been a popular ground for us and this proved to be the case again. It was always going to be tough for both teams in the hurricane like conditions but Gaerwen adapted better and were a lot more up for it than us. The first half saw us create very little although Shaun Pritchard was unlucky to see his shot hit the woodwork and Shaun Beck had a header cleared off the line. As the half was coming to an end we got caught on the counter attack as the Gaerwen left back Joe Caven scored from 20 Yards giving Danny Stanton no chance. The effort from Greenfield second half was a lot better but we created very little. As we were pushing bodies forward Gaerwen were looking lively on the counter attack and only a world class save from Danny Stanton prevented the home side from doubling their lead. On 70 minutes we drew level with a gift of a goal, the Gaerwen keeper came charging out and completely missed the ball leaving Shaun Beck to walk the ball into an empty net. We were unable to capitalise on this and although we had a few goalmouth scrambles we never did enough to deserve the three points and in all honestly we were lucky to pick up a point. A massive game lies ahead next week as we host LLanberis the last 32 of the FAW Trophy.
