Greenfield 1 Trearddur Bay 2

Greenfield were left frustrated at Trearddur Bay as a dubious goal proved to be the difference between two evenly matched teams. After gaining confidence from last weeks win at Glantraeth it was Greenfield who dominated the early exchanges but despite this fell behind to a goal that could have easily been prevented.Ryan Nolan's corner floated into the box were Rees Brown was totally unmarked allowing him to header past Danny Stanton.Greenfield then had half chances through Conor Hughes and Tom Carney but their shots were blocked .Playing into a gale force wind getting to half time just the one goal down wouldn't have too disappointing but on 40 minutes Asa Thomas was played through on goal and despite looking at least 5 yards offside the linesman kept his flag down allowing Thomas to score on the rebound after Danny Stanton had made a great save from the initial shot.With our management bemused at allowing the goal even the home managers admitted the decision surprised them! However we were unlucky not to pull a goal back before half time, following a goalmouth scramble Shaun Beck saw his shot rebound off the cross bar.Knowing we needed to be fast out of the blocks second half, we did just that and within 30 seconds of the restart Shaun Becks effort took a deflection on its way past the bay keeper.We then had the hosts panicking as we pushed forward with Keiron Roberts and Shaun Beck both inches away from getting on the end some good work down the right hand flank. Despite all our pressure we were unable to find a equalising goal and the home side held on for the win.
