Grimsby Borough can confirm their fourth new signing ahead of the upcoming season.

Grimsby Borough can today confirm the arrival of another new player. Will Peers has agreed to join The Wilderness Boys from Evo-Stik competitors Harrogate Railway Athletic F.C. Previous to this, the ex-Grimsby Town youth team player was playing at Brigg Town F.C during their Evo-Stik campaign. So although still relatively young, Peers brings a wealth of football league experience to the club.

Barrett “We are very pleased with the signing of Will. Having played with him a few years back, I am very impressed with how he has grown as a player, his physique and vocal ability are two elements that stand out immediately. He has been away at University and learnt some valuable skills whilst being at Harrogate in the Evo-Stik. He is a very capable player who adds another dimension to our playing staff but is also capable of playing a number of positions and fits the mould very well to how we set up as a team. Andy has been a fan of his for a good few seasons and is especially looking forward to having him in and around the club. Will has impressed us massively with natural ability and fitness levels already in pre-season and is a very exciting prospect and another player who has a great future ahead of him in the game.“

Will has been pre-season training with Boro’ since they started a couple of weeks back, and having found himself at home he has agreed to sign on the dotted line. He will join the squad that ended last season alongside new signings Ashton, Emson and Farr as co-managers Liddle and Barrett start to finalise their squad ready for pre-season fixtures.

Liddle “We are obviously pleased to have Will on board! I know he has been away because of his university studies but he has managed to carry on playing a higher standard and the club will benefit from his experience. The times I have seen him play, he has impressed me as he has a very good level of fitness which I like in my players and he can play anywhere across midfield. In training he has been impressive from the start and adds youth to the current squad. I am sure he will be an asset to the future success of the club and has already settled in very well. “

Everybody at the club would like to welcome Peers on board and wish him well for the upcoming NCEL campaign. With pre-season fixtures only a few weeks Boro’ now show signs of having a very strong squad.
