CLIPPER RACE SHOCK
Shock news from the FDC about Pete Briggs
It is with great sadness that the GBFC website announces Vice Chair Pete Briggs retirement from the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
Pete, who was injured during the leg from Australia, was advised to fly home to recupperate at Christmas, had made a near complete recovery when he found out that contractual difficulties were going to prevent him from returning to the Race in Singapore.
The Singapore leg is due to start in a few days time.
This is a great dissapointment to Pete who has trained for two years to compete in this event but one advantage is it was nice to see Pete back in a Yellow jacket at the FDC last Tuesday evening.
The website will still be following the De Lage Landen and we wish them a safe passage on the nest leg to China.
