NEWBY LEISURE LIMITED sponsored Grimsby Borough will be looking to end the 2013/2014 season with two home wins, the first over high flying Pontefract Collieries at Bradley on Saturday

Manager Steve Newby was delighted with the response from the Wilderness boys last Saturday at Knaresborough. T was a solid performance from the lads, we made a couple of changes and that’s where the difference was. Credit to the lads at shaw Lane for effort but we actually were allowed to play football on Saturday.

Nigel Fanthorpe speaking of Saturday’s fixture said it is always a tough encounter with Pontefract. They are a strong side difficult to break down. With just two games left of what has been a difficult season for the club, we hope to finish on a high depriving Ponte of the points. As they (Pontefract) look for a top five finiosh.

Pontefract’s last outing saw them take three points off Appleby Frodingham at the Beechnut Stadium last weekend with a 5-1 victory. Strangely enough the half time score was also the full time score.

Pontefract will offer Borough another tough encounter but we hope that if Borough play as we all know they can we shall be the ones going home with the points.
