On a nice evening for football in front of a good crowd the game started at a steady pace as both sides tested each other out.
It was Albion that created the first chance but good defending saw the ball out for a corner but nothing came from it. Borough responded but Fanthorpe and Drury kept finding the hug defenders a handful.
Meanwhile at the other end the Grimsby defence were quicker and more alert than the visiting forwards and the goal remained untroubled.

Tadcaster were still creating chances but Borough were fighting valiantly for the ball. Again superb work down the flanks by Borough were creating chances but they came to nought.
The red blew for time while Borough were in the accendecy and 30 minutes of extra time loomed.
It was Tadcaster that started the better wasting a couple of earl chances but once it was Borough that forced another point blank reaction save from Stevens as everyone thought Borough had taken the lead.

Tadcaster looked the stronger and Borough did well to clear off the line as the Premier side went for the kill. Still Borough wouldn't lie down and back they came forcing a couple of corners and as time was running a great cross saw the keeper misjudge his save and fortunately for him the ball spun wide of the upright and the resulting corner was cleared.
Unfortu time ran out for HEROIC Borough and the ovation they received at the whistle was really well deserved.
