The Newby Leisure wilderness boys took the tough trip through to Sheffield to face the worlds second oldest club Hallam at the worlds oldest ground Sandygate. Borough came into the game without captain Shaun Baker and midfielder James Archer both out suspended Reserve captain Kieran Wressell starting for the first team for the first time and speedy winger John Waugh who was returning to the starting 11. Another change saw James Swann make his debut in goal replaces Liam Higton who was stuck at work.
After around 10 minutes the visitors fell behind after a short corner was struck home. The second goal came later on when yet another shot from the edge of the area. The last attack of the game saw yet another goal but this time it was in favour of the visiting Wilderness Boys. Jake Thompson heading in the rebound from a failed cleared corner.
Borough went into the second half full of confidence but it was Hallam that thought they had scored the attacker effort on goal caught by Swann who dropped the ball into his own net only for the referee to give out an offside decision. Later in the game Borough were shocked as the referee awarded a second yellow in seconds to Steve Davis. This decision turned the game and any Borough hope seemed to fade especially when Hallam scored yet another to disappoint the visiting fans.
