Grimsby Borough took all three points against Hallam at The FDC.

Grimsby Borough sponsored by Newby Leisure faced Hallam who was the opposition who we beat in the League Cup 1st Round 4-1.

James Harness returned to the Borough side only hours after re-signing for the Wilderness Boys replacing the injured Leigh Cook in goal, James Petronzio repalced Scott Raworth who was also injured in Wednesday's 1-0 defeat, Bobby Lewisham replaced John Taylor, Ex Grimsby Town player Josh Fuller was added to the team with Matty Hall leaving and Gary Deakins came in for Dave Unsworth who was dropped to the bench beside John Gaughan and the returning George Newby.

Borough came into the game knowing that a win would take them into the top half of the table. The first half began and Borough were straight on the attack. Andy Taylor passing to Lewis Buckthorpe on the edge of the area and a perfect shot preduced an outstanding save from the visitors keeper. Borough then thought that they had taken the lead, Andy Taylor's shot being saved by the keeper but rebond staight to Bobby Lewisham on his full Borough debut and everyone in the ground thought that he had headed into the top corner of the net but only to be surprised when the ball bounced of the metal stand behidn the goal.

Half Time
Grimsby Borough 0-0 Hallam

Early into the second half the Wilderness Boys broke the deadlock when the league's top scorer Andy Taylor got his eigth goal of the campaign when he slotted home after some good play by Josh Fuller put the ball into Taylor who's good footwork saw him able to slot home into the bottom of the corner. Borough then thought they could have had a penalty when Andy Taylor was brought down but the referee deemed that the defender had won the ball although it did not appear this way. Borough continuted the game and a treble of substitutes which saw Gaughan, Newby and Unsworth replace Baker, Thompson and Lewisham who had an impressive game helped Borough keep out some late Hallam pressure to hold on to all three points.
