Tetney to strong in the 2nd half
Boro lead at half time but end up losing
This week we travelled to face Tetney Rovers on a pitch that looked more suited for a game of rugby rather than football, but the referee Paul Carter gave the pitch the ok and the game was on. Before the game got under way both teams observed a minutes silence for Boro's u7's manager Ellis Salter who sadly passed away the evening before. Report my be a bit short due to the fact I ran the line this week so made no notes.
The game got under way and Boro took the lead in the 9th minute Jack Wilson
squaring the ball to Jamie Loftus
who slid in at the back post. Tetney made it 1-1 in the 11th minute. But Harry Burke
fired Boro back into the lead getting onto Paul Richardson
's flick. 1-2 15mins. Burke got his second 10 minute later, great work from Jack Wilson
who chipped the ball over the keeper to leave Burke an easy finish. 1-3 25mins. Tetney scored again in the 29th to make it 2-3 and the score stayed this way till half time.
The second half got under way and Boro had a terrible 10 minute spell. 59 mins Tetney made it 3-3, then Christopher Blake was carded after he was grappled to the ground off the ball. 65 mine 4-3 then 68 mins 5-3. Brad Elliott was also carded along with a Tetney player. Looked a good tackle from where I was. Tetney made it 6-3 in the 81st minute. Then the goal of the game maybe the season, Brad Elliott ( who last week saw his goal not given ) only went and hit another worldie. From 35 yards out 5 yards in from the right wing, he ran onto the ball full volley over the keeper and dipping just under the bar to make it 6-4. 82 minutes gone. Tetney added the last goal of the game in the last minute to make it 7-4.
This weeks Official Lucarly's Man of the Match went to captain Brad Elliott.
So my views, ran the line today due to issue's in our previous encounter with Tetney, so did not really watch the game as I normally do, but must say I did enjoy it. Pitch was terrible but it was the same for both teams but just suited Tetney's style of play better.
So next week its a break from league action as we entertain North Somercotes in the Junior Challenge Cup 1/4 final, should be at Lucarly's but looking at the weather for the week likely to be played somewhere with a little less water on the pitch so we will keep you informed. #OneBoro
