A rampant Guernsey side ran in nine tries at Footes Lane

The 51-0 destruction of Southampton Ladies sees them move to the top of the NC South East South 2 championship.

The visitors arrived with just 13 players and in the spirit of the competition Guernsey agreed to play 13 themselves, which meant dropping two to the replacements bench.

Griffiths admitted it was frustrating to have to stand down two players through no fault of their own.

'They apparently had three not turn up at the airport. I questioned it (the 13 player suggestion) as our girls wanted to play 15,' he said

'We were not duty bound to do it but as the league is considered a development one we agreed.

'We even offered them two players.'

Jemma Crouse scored the first try from close range after just five minutes.

Her conversion attempt hit the crossbar.

Crouse was highly involved in the second try scored by Vicky Rang and before half time two more tries had been added by Justeen Baker and Annika Saunders.

Baker's effort was a superb 40-yard run through the centre and she was to do something similar after the break.

Guernsey led 22-0 at half-time and the second half was a cakewalk.

Saunders notched her second score early on and after Baker had registered her second solo effort of the day, Crouse went over under the posts.

Rang, taking over kicking duties, converted.

Hannah McLennan was next to go over and Rang added the extras, and the scoring was competed by the powerful Rang herself, which she topped off with a successful kick.
