Reynolds, 32, who has been working in the role for the past month, said it was an easy decision to make – 'a no-brainer'.

JUST when we thought - hoped - that the injury crisis was behind the 1st XV, it is back.

Did Jordan run over a black cat sometime this summer, we might ask?

Saturday’s away game at struggling Westcliff would have appeared to be eminently winnable, but the build up has been disturbed by new injuries.

Robin Le Cocq has encountered an injury at work on the farm and Jason Batiste, Darrin Bellingham and Shane Taylor are also out of this weekend’s game.

Jason was brave in playing on last week despite half his left-ear hanging off, but there is no way he could be expected to play with the damage only seven days later.

Darrin was doing so well on his return to the squad but is now out for an extended period with a herniated disc.

The good news, is that skipper Blair Campell has suffered no reaction to returning as a makeshift flanker last weekend.

‘Never again’ he said the following day and it will be interesting where he lines up against Westcliff.

Meanwhile, Jordan has talked about coaching full-time after he signed a three-year deal to be Guernsey RFC's first director of rugby.

Reynolds, 32, who has been working in the role for the past month as well as being the club's head coach, said it was an easy decision to make – 'a no-brainer'.

The Australian, qualified as a graphic designer but with aspirations to coach at a high level in the game said that Guernsey's year-on increased professionalism had convinced him to stay on. 'There is still unfinished business,' he said.

'I was part-time in the role last year and this was the logical choice.

'We are trying to pump more into the club to make us more professional in the way we go about things. It means I'm there 24/7 for the players.'

'I think there is huge potential to move forward.

'I want to coach at a higher level but I think Guernsey can play at a a good level themselves.'
