Guernsey leapfrogged Old Elthamians with a hard fought bonus point victory at Footes Lane.

OE’s were the winners on the mainland earlier in the season, but Luke Sayer got Guernsey off to the perfect start with a converted try to which he added a penalty. Cameron Craine also drove over after a drive from a line out was stopped short before Sayer added a second penalty for a 20-0 half time lead.
With the wind at their backs, OE’s came back into the match with a penalty and try before Luke Sayer was high-tackled when clean through to the line and the referee awarded a penalty try. Two tries in quick succession for the visitors brought the score back to 27-22, but Nick Barton drove over for the bonus point winning score late on.
The game ended on a sour note with both Tom Ceillam and Sam Stevens seeing red cards along with OE’s fullback for their part in fight involving most players from both sides.

Fifth-placed Sidcup who are only 3 points behind Guernsey are the visitors to Footes Lane next week.
