Under 9s finish 3rd at Brighton festival
A strong performance by the Giants Under 9 Minis saw them finish 3rd at the Brighton festival on Saturday 23rd June.
The Under 9s, under the tutelage of Chris Bridge are showing week-on-week improvement and put in a strong performance at Hove Recreation Ground.
Starting the festival with a win against Hemel Hempstead, they followed this up with a hard-fought tie against the Medway Dragons before defeating St Albans Centurions.
The Giants then had the misfortune to come up against a strong Richmond team in our 3rd of 3 consecutive games without a break and this was the game that finally broke our unbeaten streak. The Under 9s finished off with a loss against the home team Sussex Merlins.
The boys were understandably proud of their performance, having only been beaten by the two finalists and having earned praise for their team defence from referees at the tournament.
It's back to training at Surrey Sports Park on Saturday 30th as our Minis section continue to work on their skills and teamplay.
