Interested in coaching?

Guildford Giants are looking for new coaches for the 2012 season and beyond. No qualifications or experience is required just some enthusiasm for getting involved! More coaches means more teams and more people playing the game.

Coaching qualifications will also be available to those who wish to take them. The first Level 1 course of 2012 has been announced for January 29th and February 26th next year at East London Rugby, West Ham. Course fees will be covered by the club.

Team Confirmations

We are pleased to announce that following a successful 2011 season the club will be expanding to include a Ladies team for 2012. The new team will be open to any women aged 16 and above.

The five existing team will run as before with more fixtures planned for the 3 minis teams.

In full Guildford will be running:

An Open Age Mens team playing in the Rugby League Conference South East Division

An Open Age Ladies team playing in the RFL's Division One (South).
Under 7's, Under 9's and Under 11's teams playing in regular festivals and local fixtures.

If you have an interest in Rugby League within or outside these teams then please get in contact, we wish to make Rugby League available to all.

Student RL Trials

As you may or may not be aware the Student Rugby League (SRL) has a comprehensive representative set up, with a regional competition leading to a selection opportunity for the SRL International squad’s.
This is an open trial where we are looking for the most talented RUGBY players, League or Union. Please be aware however that it is a performance programme and athletes will need to have high standard of core rugby skills to be eligible to trial.

We will be holding trials for players in the London and the South East region, from which a squad will be selected to represent South of England in the Regional Carnival later in the year. This carnival is your opportunity to get noticed as a talented player and potentially selected to represent your country.

The South East trial will be held at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, TW1 4SX on Sunday 11th of December.
The format of the day will be as follows;
12.00pm – Players arrive and register
12.30 pm – Warm up/Skills session taken by coaches
1.30pm – Games begin
3pm – Players depart

Please arrive on time, bringing with you playing kit, water and any food you require for the day.
