Guilsfield 2 Caersws 1

Guilsfield took the three points in the Mid-Wales derby before a big crowd at the Community Centre ground. A threadbare Guilsfield squad took advantage of a surprisingly subdued Caersws to take the spoils in the first half with a well worked goal on the stroke of half time from Man of the Match, Andy Ford.
Guilsfield doubled the lead on 48 mins with Louis Irvine being upended in the penalty area and picking himself up to slot home the spot kick. Irvine squandered another penalty opportunity by shooting wide after the Caersws keeper had been penalised.
This missed kick gave Caersws some impetus to grab a foothold in the game and they got a goal back through a Will Thomas header. The last ten minutes was tense and included the sending off of Jolyon Harries for a second yellow.
Guilsfield saw the game out with Sam Litchfield reverting to centre back to replace the dazed Robbie James. An important victory for the lads, who showed the spirit of the squad today with so many players out.
Team: Littleford, Bromley, Cathrall, Ford, James, Henderson, Irvine, Leonard, Litchfield, Rogers, Richards. Subs: Jenkins (James), Davies, Edwards, Andrew.
