Guilsfield came up short at the final hurdle after failing to convert pressure into goals in last night's Central Wales Cup final.
Despite having the majority of the play and territory, we could not convert one of the numerous chances which came our way, especially in the second half.
Guilsfield were dealt a blow early in the game as striker Adam Jenkins limped off with a hamstring injury but we re-group and tried to play our passing game on a testing surface.
Carno were always in with a shout with a set-piece threat at corners and wide man Peter Rees playing a key role.
However, the writing was on the wall as Guilsfield could not find the net after Chris Cathrall crashed his shot from 20 yards against the post, Andy Ford headed narrowly wide and the Carno rearguard scrambled a shot off the line.
With no goals after 120 minutes, Carno prevailed in the penalty shoot out to carry the Cup home in their first appearance in the Area final.
