Both our teams win Holywell Town 0 Guilsfield 2 Guilsfield Reserves 4 Llanfyllin Town 3

Guilsfield completed the league campaign with one of the best wins of the season at in-form Holywell. The Wellmen had been going really well of late and can still finish in the top three.
Guilsfield wanted to end the season on a positive note and this was duly achieved with a tremendous second half performance after doing all the dogged work in the first period.
Holywell had the Guils pinned back for the majority of the first half but the defensive formation held out and Lee Andrew was a formidable obstacle between the sticks. We got a foothold in the game with Robbie James' header finding the back of the net from another assist by Jake Cook on 40 mins. HT (0-1)
Guilsfield got the upper hand immediately in the second half as a typical Chris Cathrall dribble down the heart of the Hoywell half resulted in the midfielder rounding the keeper but the narrow angle resulted in his shot coming back off the post. Jake Cook picked up the rebound and coolly slotted home into the corner of the net. (46 mins).
The wheels came off the Holywell temperament and Sam Jones' over-exuberant dissent a few minutes later resulted in the front man being shown two yellow cards within 60 seconds. This gave Guilsfield some breathing space but the Wellmen still carried a threat. James was able to clear off the line after Lee Andrew and Andy Ford clattered into each other.
Guilsfield saw out the game to remain in 4th place while Holywell will dust themselves down and go again with three remaining games to secure a top three spot.

All credit to the Guilsfield players and management team for another very positive league season. Great team spirit shown throughout the campaign and a big thank you to Nathan Leonard for producing a very effective team in his first season as manager.

Team: Andrew, Bromley, Weetman, Rogers, Ford, James, Cook, Jones, Hamilton, Cathrall, Harris. Subs: Jenkins (Harris), Richards (Jones), Leonard (Hamilton).

Meanwhile, the Reserves kept up the pressure at the top of the Montgomeryshire League after a narrow home win versus Llanfyllin Town. Evergreen Danny Barton securing the win with a hat-trick.
