Guilsfield edged this derby match 1-0 with the only goal of the game scored by Gareth Jones on 67 mins after a Sam Heenan strike fell to the midfielder. The goal capped a fine performance by Gareth, aided by a very solid team effort.
The bumpy surface and strong wind did not make for good football in the first half, and chances were squandered at both ends. HT 0-0.
The second half was a brighter affair with the wind easing and Guils just about edging the 3 points based on chances created. Both Nathan Leonard and Danny Barton were injured during the game so will be doubtful for next Saturday's game at Porthmadog. With Josh Evans and Darragh O'Callaghan sidelined for a few more weeks, the squad will be stretched to the limit.
Meanwhile the Reserves suffered a heavy 4-1 loss at Bettws which has led to Llangedwyn capturing top spot. Next Saturday sees the Reserves hosting the table toppers who include former Guils legend Tim Nunnerley in their squad.
