Guilsfield suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat at Cae Baker after a below par display on Tuesday night. The Guils were without the injured Sam Litchfield and Steve Blenkinsop (unavailable).Guilsfield struck the first meaningful shot of the game with Andy Ford firing straight into the keeper's arms on 15 mins. Three minutes later, Penrhyncoch forced a smart save from James after good work by Doherty. James Parry cleared Tomos Evans' shot off the line on 29 mins but 2 mins later the Roosters opened the scoring with a breakaway goal from Craig Williams.
The second half began badly for the Guils as Josh Shaw struck with the away side losing possession in their own half soon after the restart. Guilsfield carried little threat going forward and the evening proved to be a difficult one. The finishing blow came on 67 mins after another defensive lapse allowed Williams to get his brace. An uncharacteristically flat performance from Guilsfield. With Gresford also suffering at the hands of Buckley last night, Friday evening's game carried added importance, even this early in the season.
