Congratulations to Pierce Phillips who was selected to play for a Newcastle Falcons under 17's squad against a Sedburgh School team on Saturday 30th January 2010. The 6'7" lock forward played a full game against a strong Sedbergh side who beat the Falcons 12 - 0 on a cold night at Druid Park, Gosforth.
This is the second time that Pierce has been selected for the Newcastle side; he and Jamie Drysdale being previously called upon at under 16 level.
Pierce's selection reflects the high level of ability within the Guisborough Under 17's squad, with a fair number now having played to County level and beyond.
Jamie Drysdale is currently a trialist going through the selection process with Durham County U'17s and hopefully will be successful in the near future.
