RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibility of The Hon. Treasurer is to control the Club’s finances and advise the Executive Committee regarding the position on income and expenditure on a monthly basis and exercise budgetary control to ensure the Club lives within its means. He/she will be directly responsible to the Executive Committee.
DUTIES
• Maintain records of all Club, income and expenditure.
• Prepare annual budget (based on historical data.
• Monitor the Club’s banking accounts on-line.
• Pay debtors invoices in a controlled manner.
• Receive financial data from the Club Steward regarding turnover from the bar sales.
• Receive financial reconciliation from various Club functions i.e. Players Dinner/Summer Ball etc.
• Pay Salaries/wages to Club staff.
• Maintain strict control over club expenditure to maintain a healthy bank balance.
• Liaise with the clubs accountants.
KEY SKILLS FOR ROLE
• Bookkeeping, financial or banking experience.
• Good IT skills.
• Experience in creating and maintaining budgets.
• Well organised and conscientious.
• Good working knowledge of meeting procedures.
TIME COMMITMENT
It is anticipated the role will require 7 to 14 hours per week.
