The Royal Artillery has the Royal Logistic Corps firmly in their sights as they begin their preparation to defend the Lawson Cup. The RLC have shown they are a force to be recon with this season to reach their first ever Army Rugby League Corps Championship final but the Gunners are also looking to make history.
The long awaited first game of the 2013 Inter Service Championship takes place this week as the British Army take on current holders the Royal Air Force. After last seasons disapointment of losing the title when the Army lost at home to the Royal Navy the new look side looks to get the right result at home.

The annual Royal Artillery awards and end of season dinner will this year take place on Thursday 26 Septemper at Spanish Tapas restaurant La Mollina in Salisbury. The evening will enable the squad to come together for the final time as the 2013 campaign concludes. The Royal Artillery win defend their Army Corps Championship title against the Royal Logistics Corps after they beat the Royal Engineers 28 - 26 in a winner takes all fixture at South Cerney. Alhough this is the first time the RLC have made the Lawson Cup final in their history the game is sure to be a battle. In round 4 when the two teams clashed it was a tight affair with the Gunners winning the match by only 2 points 12 - 10.

The Royal Artillery put the disappointment of losing the Heroes Trophy behind them as they beat the Infantry in the final round of the Lawson Cup. The victory ensured an unbeaten run in the Army Corps Championship as they made the final finishing top of the table. View Item »

The British Army played St Albans in Hertfordshire and produced a convincing win. It was just what they needed after the defeat to BARLA 3 days earlier. With the final scoreline 54 - 4 once again the Army have momentum as they push onto the next fixture in the build up to the 2013 Inter Service Championship. The British Army were out played by a strong BARLA team at St Helens losing 38 - 6 in their annual fixture, this was BARLA's last match prior to touring down under and it was the Army's first one since beating GB Police. The Army as always gave a good account of themselves against the best the amateur game has to offer but once again it wasa bridge too far. Nottingham Outlaws finally got their hands on The Heroes Trophy at the fourth time of asking when they defeated a powerful Royal Artillery side in a pulsating game at Harvey Hadden on Saturday. In a match which defences dominated it was the better finishing of the Outlaws that clinched an 18-14 victory despite a desperate fight back by a courageous Gunners team. View Item »
