Recruitment
HAC RFC has again recruited well over the summer and remains on the lookout for new players to join the squad thoughout the 2011/12 season.
Having won the Herts/Middlesex Division 2 and the Middlesex Vase in 2009/10, last season the club then won the Herts/Middlesex Division 1 and the National Junior Vase, the final of which was played at Twickenham. At the start of the 2011/12 season, the 1st XV entered the London Leagues for the first time in its history. Retention of the core of its squad from the previous year coupled with excellent recruitment has given the 1st XV strength in depth enough that a third of the way through the season it is unbeaten in the London North West 3.
The club places an emphasis on welcoming new joiners of any standard with open arms, but also actively recruits new members through school, university and previous club contacts. This practice, coupled with the recent success of the club, has seen it grow from a one-team club to a three-team club in a matter of a few seasons. We now run a 2nd XV and a 3rd XV which play in the Middlesex Merit Table Division 3 and 6 respectively and both teams offer social yet highly competitive running, attacking rugby.
Conveniently located for city workers or anyone who lives in the greater London area, the glorious setting of Armoury House is one of the most phenomenal places to play rugby in the world. If you have played rugby to a good standard and wish to be a part of a successful 1st XV squad, or if you just miss the beers and camaraderie and want to play more socially, we are the club for you.
Training takes place on Thursday evenings, currently located under floodlights in Pimlico. There is also a full social calendar including a Christmas social and culminating in an end-of-season ball at the HAC and a tour to Croatia.
