The Mighty 3rds 39 Duns 2nds 27
The 3rds maintained their unbeaten record, doubling their run, with a hard fought win over a young, keen and hardy Duns team.
3rds stalwarts Mitchell (J) and Marnoch made their seasonal debuts, whilst Leggett, Dykes, Dyer, Grant and Brownlee made comebacks, the latter having been away with a serious doze of laziness.
Indeed it was just like old times with Brownlee showing all his old form with zero from three conversions!
Duns had the balance of play for much of the game, no fluke as one of the few teams able to honour their fixtures in the league so far.
However a good team effort saw the Mighty's take the honours, thanks in no small part to some help from their friends, with "the red arrow" Chalmers going further than last week with a hat-trick, aided and abetted by Gary Dyer with one, David Duncan another whilst Puds followed his MoM performance last week with a runaway try to mark his role as Captain this week.
Sax added a few kicks, and a fine win was in the bag.
MoM Mike Leggett, who on 3rds debut showed promise, and hopefully may make some more appearances if he is unable to train enough to play up the teams.
