I'd like to welcome Haddon CC members to the 2024 cricket season. Although the weather has been a historic low this winter, we are all excited for the season to get underway and hopefully get back to those summer evenings we crave throughout the long winter. As a result of the AGM in February, there has been a reshuffle to the committee which I would like to announce. Richard Allen, after 4 years as Chairman and many more years doing every other job a cricket club could ask for, has stepped down and we would like to thank him for his amazing contribution to the club, both pre and post the merger. Thank you Richard! Our Vice-Chairman, Colin Povey, has also stepped down this year in order but you will still be able to find Colin either rolling the pitch at East Haddon or propping up the bar in the club house. We also thank Colin for all his efforts, they will be missed. Our Junior Coordinator, Jim Houghton, has also decided to step down after a long stint running the juniors. His contribution has been invaluable and he will be missed enormously. I'm sure all parents of children who have come through the junior system at both West Haddon and Haddon will join us in thanking Jim.

I am delighted to announce that Richard's replacement as Chairman will be Neil Humphrey, a familiar face to many from his previous stint as Chairman of West Haddon CC. We would like to welcome Humpo back to the committee and we are all looking forward to working alongside him. We also would like to welcome to the committee Alex Hardwick as the Women's Coordinator, a position long overdue and one she will take on with the enthusiasm and spirit which led the Women's Midweek side to the league title last year. Welcome Alex! I am also delighted to announce that Ian Hardwick has stepped up to solely run the Junior section, after assisting Jim for the previous 3 seasons. Ian is a fantastic role model for the youngsters and a vital asset to the club.
