Halifax Hammers are only three points behind with a game-in-hand after they beat King Cross 11-0. Hammers got of to a flying start with only three minutes gone, as Irfan Afzal picked out youngster Awais Khan, who hit a stunning volley from 25 yards. It was 2-0 after six minutes when a delightful ball by Khurram Shazad found Terriq Pervez on edge of area, and he placed his shot in top corner. King Cross held out until the 35th minute when Khurram Shazad dummied his marker just outside the area and unleashed a powerful shot into the top corner. Just before half-time, central defender Mazn Amhamed went on a mazy run from his own half and scored a terrific solo goal to make it 4-0. The floodgates really opened after the interval though, with Sameer Ahmed scoring at the far post after good link-up play with Pervez.On 56 minutes, another excellent through ball by Afzal sent Pervez in clear and he finished into the bottom corner to make it 6-0. Ahmed added Hammers’ seventh on 74 minutes when a well worked corner was dummied for him to hit a neat shot into the top corner. Ahmed completed his hat-trick after again combining well with Pervez, before the favour was repaid and Ahmed put Pervez through before he went around the keeper to make it 9-0. Good play by Jasim Salih and Pervez put the ball on plate for Afzal, who scored from close range to make it 10-0, and on 88 minutes, Ahsan Farooq scored a stunner with a first time volley into the top corner to make it 11-0.
