'Crunch' fixture up next as Rangers take in oldest ground in the world

UP NEXT – Hallam (Away), Saturday January 21, Sandygate, Toolstation NCEL First Division, Kick off 3pm

AFTER yesterday's postponement attention now turns to a crunch NCEL First Division fixture, at fellow promotion hopefuls Hallam.
The Sheffield based side, are steeped in history as they are the second oldest football club in the world behind city rivals Sheffield FC, having been officially formed in 1860.
They have also used their current Sandygate ground since their formation, making it the oldest football ground in the world, a record recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The ground itself is renowned for its steep slope from post-to-post and Rangers will be keen to avenge the home defeat suffered earlier in the season at Haworth Park.
Hallam currently remain one of only two sides, to have beaten Hall Road at their Haworth Park home this season in the league, the other been leaders AFC Emley and their obvious goal threat comes from Jake Currie who has netted 16 times whilst Tom Roebuck (12), Steven Brammer and Jack Hargreaves (both nine goals) have also contributed regularly.
Their recent form has seen them lose twice to Grimsby Borough, however they have seen off Pontefract Collieries in the last month before beating Brigg Town 4-0 last time out in front of over 200 supporters.
In their history they also have numerous players who have played professionally, with the most notable been Chris Waddle who appeared in 2013 at the end of his career, whilst former Mansfield Town favourite Michael Boulding began his career at the club in 1998.
