Hall Rangers will travel to Yorkshire Amateur on Saturday looking to improve on their 1-1 draw with Winterton Rangers at the weekend. The boys from Haworth Park put in a tremendous performance against their rivals from over the Humber and felt it was two points dropped rather than one gained due to their lack of ability to finish the chances created. Their goal came from a tremendous strike from young left back Tate Dean who’s thunderous shot rattled the bar and went in.
Rangers last faced Yorkshire Amateur in a thrilling league cup goal fest back in August when Amateur came out on top of the 5-4 encounter. Rangers had raced into a 2-0 lead with goals from Adam Foster and Danny Walker before being pegged pack by the home side. Despite further goals from the Rangers pair a spectacular five minute hat trick from Craig Heard and goals from Harrison Blakey and Glen Wood sealed the league cup tie for the home side.
Amateur will come into the game having won one and lost one so far in October. An Away win over Rossington Main followed a 3-1 defeat in the FA Vase against Hebburn Town.
With Rangers picking up their first point in October against Winterton manager Martin Thacker will be hoping the tide has turned for his boys. “We have signed a couple of new lads” said Thacker “It is my hope and belief that this will tip us over the edge and we can starting winning the games that we deserve to based on our past performances.”
