Hall Road Rangers will travel to Glasshoughton Welfare on Saturday looking to continue their good run of form in 2017. Rangers currently sit securely in the NCEL division one play off places and with games in hand and the decision regarding their abandoned match against Shirebrook still to be made, automatic promotion a distinct possibility.
Glasshoughton by comparison sit in 10th place in the NCEL and have yet to play in 2017. Their last outing was a 4-0 demolition of Dronsfield back on Boxing Day 2016.
Rangers Manager Dave Ricardo will have fond memories of beating Glasshoughton given they were his first league scalp as Rangers Manager back in August. Three goals on the day, one from James Piercy and two from Scott Phillips were enough to secure Rangers and Ricardo the points. The second of Phillips goals being a 90th minute winner.
When asked about the game Ricardo commented “After the win on Monday I told the players that we need to prepare and train to the highest standard as Glasshougton are one of the five hardest away fixtures of the season in my opinion.”
“The ground will be heavy and they are a fit hard working side who have a couple of dangerous players going forward.”
“Having said this we should be full of confidence after the convincing win against Selby. We will be missing Brad Ricketts due to work commitments and Louis Kirk who will be out for around a month however we welcome back Jack Binns and Josh Batty.”
Kick off will be 3pm at the Glasshoughton Centre, Leeds, WF10 4PF.
